Questions
What is the battery life of the Ricoh GR IIIx?
About 200 shots per CIPA with the DB-110. USB-C charges the cell. Spare batteries are the practical answer if the day is long. Playback is listed around 180 minutes.
Is the Ricoh GR IIIx weather sealed?
No. The exterior frame is magnesium alloy. There is no weather-seal claim on the official spec pages. Pocket dust is a known long-term concern on this retractable-lens series.
Does it shoot 4K?
No. Video is Full HD 1920×1080 at 60p, 30p, or 24p. No mic jack. No HDMI. About 25 minutes or 4 GB, then it stops. Heat can stop it sooner.
How does it compare to a 1-inch zoom compact?
Larger sensor, fixed 40 mm, 262 g including dedicated battery and SD card. The Canon G7 X Mark III and Sony RX100 VII are 1-inch zooms with 4K. Pick this for stills at one focal length. Pick those for zoom and video.
